Prepping for the big day 💪🏼
WellTold: A Nonprofit Storytelling Conference is an event we dreamed up last year in partnership with our friends at DonorDock. We wanted to create a space and community for nonprofit and mission-driven organizations to come together. We wanted to give them frameworks and insight that they can apply to their organizations as soon as they leave. And as soon as last year’s WellTold conference wrapped last spring, we knew we wanted to do it all again.
From choosing the theme and creating design, to curating the speaker lineup and bringing in sponsors, this was a big team effort. And we couldn’t do it alone! With a line up of volunteers and the entire Tellwell team, we prepped everything needed for this conference. Tote bag packing, pre-party set up, and more. We are so grateful for the extra hands and everyone’s dedication to this event.
Pre-party shenanigans 🎉
The day before WellTold, we hosted a pre-party at the Tellwell office. This serves as a time for attendees to pick up their goodies and check in early, as well as a time to create connections and learn more about others. This year’s theme was Trail Mix & Mingle. We had a spread of snacks and drinks and the energy was high! People were chatting, meeting new faces, and getting excited for the conference.
WellTold Day! ✨🚀
Attendees started rolling into Brewhalla bright and early, with several activities arranged. We started the day with Coffee, Crafts, and Connection — a time for people to caffeinate, chat with each other, and create custom bookmarks in the Craftatorium. Once everyone was bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, the sessions began. Throughout the day, we had a line up of amazing speakers — T. Clay Buck, Dayna Del Val, Christal M. Cherry, our very own Max Kringen, Noah Barnett, Sherry Quam Taylor, and Scott Holdman. Along with our in-person event, there was an online space as well, hosted by Anika Horn. So many lessons and takeaways from these impactful humans, thank you all for showing up and being involved with this amazing day.
Activities! 🎨
Spread throughout the day were intentional activities and moments of fun. We had Kudos Boards and Win Walls where attendees could share compliments and wins with others. We had card stations where you could create notes for children in local hospitals. We even had quarters available for pin ball!
To finish the day, we had a Mission Moment: filling care boxes for Smiles For Jake. Being able to come together and finish the day with an act of service was the cherry on top, and seeing attendees dive right in was amazing.
Feeling warm and fuzzy 🫶🏼
At the end of the day, we are so grateful for everyone that attended, everyone who helped out throughout the process, and to the entire Tellwell team. Each and every one of you had a hand in creating this experience and we couldn’t do this work without you.
That wraps up this week! Keep an eye out for our next plog, coming May 8th!
