Welcome to Tellwell’s weekly Plog (photo-blog)!

Team Tellwell had a packed week filled with film shoots, design and event preparations, even a gala for one of our Story Makers. Let’s jump into it!

This image captures a film set at sunset by a lakeside. In the foreground, a tablet displays a live camera feed of two people in conversation with the sun setting behind them, casting a warm glow. Around them, a crew is setting up equipment, including a large reflector, a boom mic, and cameras. The autumn trees with orange leaves add to the cozy, natural ambiance of the scene.

This week’s writer

Hey readers, it’s Kari! I’m the video content specialist here at Tellwell and I have the pleasure of writing this week’s plog. As part of the film team, I conduct interviews, direct talent, write storylines, and so much more!

Designs coming to life!

The design team has been planning, creating, and designing for an upcoming event that is being hosted this weekend! The theme for the event is “80s Rewind”, which brought so many fun and colorful design concepts, and we finally got to see them in person!

There’s nothing quite like seeing and holding a physical representation of all the creative work our design team has put in for our clients. We can’t wait to see how everything looks at the event this weekend!

A person excitedly holds up a large banner with a colorful 80s-themed design that reads '80s Rewind.' The banner features retro graphics, including a Rubik's cube, a cassette tape, a roller skate, and an old-school cell phone, along with vibrant colors and geometric patterns. The person is wearing a teal jacket and a backwards cap, posing in a modern office space.
Three people standing behind a counter covered with a large red banner that resembles the design of the game show Family Feud. The banner has a retro cross-stitch floral pattern and bold yellow lettering spelling 'Family Feud.' The individuals behind the counter are smiling, with one holding a cup, in a kitchen area with cabinets, a coffee machine, and various supplies in the background.

Filming, filming, and (you guessed it) more filming!

Within the last week, the film team has had several days-worth of film shoots! This week marked the end of filming for one of our projects with a local university! Lead Editor Matt got to be our resident science lab expert when we set up for one of our scenes, which was incredibly helpful and entertaining! We had some fun with lighting, props, even crazy camera work (check out the camera successfully being plunged into a fish tank)! We can’t wait for you all to see the finished products, so keep an eye out on a TV near you!

A classroom scene set up for a video shoot, with a group of children seated at desks facing a woman who appears to be their teacher. Several crew members are working around them: one person operates a camera, another holds up a large boom mic and light diffuser, and another watches the scene on a laptop in the foreground. The classroom is brightly lit, with various educational materials on the walls and desks.
A man in a black t-shirt and a cap that reads "UP NORTH DOWN SOUTH" is in a laboratory setting. He stands at a table with a playful expression, holding up a lab tool, possibly a pipette. The table is filled with lab equipment, including scales, containers, and various scientific supplies. Behind him, there are shelves with glassware and other laboratory items, indicating an active science workspace.
Three people working around a shallow aquarium tank. The woman on the left leans over, placing her hands in the water, observing carefully. The man in the middle watches as the person on the right adjusts equipment submerged in the tank. Behind them, a sign reads 'Rubbish Reef,' and a large fish tank filled with coral and marine life is visible.

We also spent another full day in the Tellwell studio to shoot additional content for a future video series! We love being on location out and about for film shoots, but we also love getting to spend time at our home base. Such a productive week in film world!

Three people are seen in a film studio complete with camera equipment, lighting, and a set that reads “Kenyon Noble Know How.” One man is standing behind the cameras wearing headphones and all black. Another man is sitting down, monitoring the scripts. One woman is standing in front of the cameras and appears to be the talent. She is wearing a black and white striped sweater with jeans and sandals. She is standing on top of a small box.

The RACC Harvest Moon Fling

Last Saturday, we were honored to attend the Harvest Moon Fling hosted by RACC of Fargo Moorhead, one of our Story Makers. RACC is a local resource that offers confidential crisis intervention, advocacy, counseling, and education to all persons affected by sexual and domestic violence.

We recently created an impact film highlighting one of the featured speakers for the night, Kirsten. Being able to see this film premier at this event in a room filled with supporters was incredibly rewarding and is a great reminder of why we do what we do.

The night was filled with delicious food, impactful speakers, and some competitive bidding, leaving our hearts filled as well. RACC is an amazing organization and we are so proud to work with them.

Six people stand in a line, smiling for a photo. They are all dressed formally, and standing in front of a black, velvet curtain. They appear to be at an event. There are three men and three women, intermixed within the line. They appear happy and friendly.
A vase of purple flowers, a plate of cupcakes, and a small sign that reads “Harvest Moon Fling Tellwell” with another smaller sign that reads “138” is shown on a table in the foreground. There is a woman standing on a stage in the background behind a pedestal. On stage, there is a large light fixture that is shaped like a sun. This appears to be at an event. The stage is filled with purple and pink lighting.
That wraps up this week! Keep an eye out for our next plog, coming November 8th!
A smiling woman stands outdoors near a small fire pit by a peaceful river at sunset. She wears a dark jacket with "Tellwell" embroidered on it and large red oven mitts, playfully holding up her hands as if ready to handle something hot. The autumn leaves, calm water, and warm light of the sunset add a cozy atmosphere to the scene.
