Another week, another plog!

Hi friends! KJ here. Welcome back to another installment of the Tellwell Plog (photo blog)!

The last couple weeks were pretty busy – so much so, that we may have forgotten to pull out our phones and grab photos. Ope! That said, we do have some!

This past week offered time to focus on team building. While it wasn’t an explicitly planned focus, it was a worthy way to spend time balanced with getting our to-dos to-done!.

The biggest (and probably most exciting) update: we have an addition to the Tellwell Team. A hearty welcome to Jacob, Tellwell’s 2024 film intern! Jacob comes to us from MSUM’s animation program and hopes to round out his editing skills and experiences as a film storyteller during his time with Tellwell. I had the opportunity to sit down with him and get some rapid-fire answers to random questions, too.

Q: Coffee or tea?

Coffee

Q: One film that everyone should watch?

Everything, Everywhere, All at Once

Q: Early bird or night owl?

Night owl

Q: A fun fact that people might not know about you?

I really really like snakes.

We also gathered as a team to have a hybrid happy hour with Tellwell South (also known as Riley’s house in South Dakota) and Tellwell North (also known as Katie’s place in Grand Forks). We showed off our knowledge with some online trivia and bonded over more personal and impromptu trivia – guessing middle names and ages.

Down to Business

As for ACTUAL work, we’ve had another busy week.

Whew! We beat the deadline and submitted more than 25 projects for the annual American Advertising Awards. Each year, the American Advertising Federation honors outstanding work put forth by members of their local chapters. Winners of the local awards are then moved into regional awards, and folks who win there get to move on to the national level of awards. It’s an incredible honor to be recognized. Last year, Tellwell took home 14 awards from the local level of competition (including a judge’s choice award for our Pride Stories work) and then another at the regional level.

Look how fancy we all were last year!

Film Team on the Road Again

Early this week, the film crew spent some time with our friends at the North Dakota Reading and Math Corps. Check out some of the action!

And Again

The film crew is concluding their week on-location in Daytona Beach. I’m not jealous of the weather they’re experiencing right now in sunny Florida while we bundle up against the below-zero windchills in North Dakota.

Meanwhile, Back Up North

Speaking of windchills, some of the team spent time on location in Minnesota capturing some video and photographic evidence of the snow. Project Manager Lucas even got to strap on his snowboard and carve up some snow while we did some filming and photography for Detroit Mountain Recreational Area.

And that wraps up what we’ve been up to at Tellwell. Stay warm out there, folks!
