Choice Bank eats, sleeps, and breathes its #PeopleFirst Promise, and Rise Up stories are just one example. Every month, Choice Bank collects hundreds of nominations featuring random acts of kindness, each written by someone on the Choice team highlighting one of their teammates. For over 2 years, Tellwell has partnered with Choice to turn these Rise Up stories into blog form; selecting three stories to feature a month, interviewing the participants, collecting photos, and publishing on Choice’s website. When the idea for turning these stories into a podcast came up, it seemed like a natural fit (even though our only prior experience with podcasts was a love for NPR and This American Life–but those proved to be good teachers!).
Today, we create around one #PeopleFirst podcast a month. The podcast process involves interviewing the team members and the customers featured in the story, scripting a narrative and recording it using our own voice talent, weaving the story together, and adding sound design. The podcasts are then shared across Choice Bank’s social channels and published on iTunes.
Carson Wentz’s Biggest Fan

When a customer in New Jersey called Choice Financial about his check order, he got Amy Ebensteiner in Fargo. He recognized the accent right away.
“You must be in the Midwest!” he said, with excitement.
“Yes, I’m in Fargo,” Amy answered.
“Well, I’ve gotta tell ya, I’m a huge Carson Wentz fan,” the man explained. He told her his family has had Eagles season tickets since 1962, even adding that if he had the chance, he’d elect Wentz to be Mayor.
