Welcome to Tellwell’s weekly Plog (photo-blog)!

Behind the scenes, big dreams, and stories WellTold – our last full week of April was filled with so much good.

This week’s writer

Hey readers, it’s Megan! I am the Design Project Manager for Tellwell which means I get to work on all website and design projects, along with supporting our social media team. I am grateful to have just celebrated one whole year learning, loving, and laughing with this special crew. Woohoo!

Stuffed with goodness!

Our week kicked off with bags to be stuffed, emails to be sent, and fun to be had. A sold-out conference doesn’t come together without some good ol’ fashioned hands-on fun. With 150 attendees joining us, we had some bags to prepare, a pre-party to set up, and a stage to put together. The behind the scenes work truly “set the stage” for an incredible day on Thursday.

Annie, Wood you help?

Annie Wood, Tellwell’s Chief of Staff, was the brains behind making WellTold come to life. Chief Storyteller Max Kringen and his passion for nonprofits ignited a spark, a dream, and a wish to make something bigger than Tellwell be accessible for our nonprofit storytelling community. Annie’s “yes” to helping led to 3 countries, 28 states, 75 virtual, and 150+ in-person attendees taking part in the inaugural WellTold: A Nonprofit Storytelling Conference. Max MC’d the event, gathered the speakers, and made every storyteller in the room feel seen, heard, and invigorated with the wish to tell their story differently, tell it with creativity, and most of all, tell it well.

Merch, Magic, and Mission-Driven Organizations!

WellTold was all about offering the tools that mission-driven organizations need to tell their story well. We know that storytelling is hard and that’s why WellTold was born with the goal of providing accessible support to our incredible storytelling community. From stage design to swag, our speakers to the scripts, the lunch hour to the happiest hour and everything in between, each decision was made with intention behind it. The day was full of magical moments and we are so grateful to have shared it with such phenomenal folks both in-person and online. WellTold would not have been possible without the work of DonorDock, our speakers, and the sponsors who made our dreams come true.

And yes, we did have Patrick Kirby’s son there to provide autographs for the book “Fundraise Like a 5th Grader”, Patrick’s latest release featuring his kiddo on the cover. Because getting kids involved in philanthropy is cool, and you’re never too young to tell a good story (or sign one).

Almost to May March Madness??

March may be over, but the madness is not. We take competition pretty seriously at Tellwell – but all in good fun. Lead Project Manager Lucas Rutten project managed the heck out of his bracket selections and won the 2025 “Well Done Award”. All the way from South Dakota, the trophy traveled to the office this week to find its new home on Lucas’s desk. After a busy week filled with so much good, this was the trophy on top!

That wraps up this week! Keep an eye out for our next plog, coming May 2nd!
