Welcome to Tellwell’s weekly Plog (photo-blog)!

In the community, out in the world, and in the kitchen with birthday treats. Wanna see what we were up to? Let’s go!

Four people sit at a long wooden table in a busy restaurant or brewery, smiling at the camera. The woman on the left wears a black hat with pins and a striped shirt, next to a man in glasses and an orange hoodie. Across from them are a man in a teal sweatshirt and black cap holding a phone, and a woman in a brown sweater with a smartwatch. Empty pint glasses, a colorful water bottle, and a phone rest on the table. In the background, other groups of people are gathered around tables against brick walls and large windows.

This week’s writer

Hey readers, it’s Kari! I’m the video content specialist here at Tellwell and I have the pleasure of writing this week’s plog. As part of the film team, I conduct interviews, direct talent, write storylines, and so much more! Let’s get into it!

Chocolate for Change 🍫

The YWCA, one of our amazing Story Makers, had their Chocolate for Change event this week and Team Tellwell made an appearance! This event helps support the women and children served by the YWCA of Cass Clay. There was delicious chocolate and chili, live auctions and prizes, and plenty of inspiration to send us off into our afternoon. Showing up for our Story Makers is so important to us, being able to connect with them and immerse ourselves into their work is always so rewarding.

Four women pose together in front of a YWCA Cass Clay step-and-repeat backdrop with the slogan “eliminating racism, empowering women.” They are smiling and holding oversized props, including a large cookie, a circular “YWCA Chocolate for Change” token, and a rectangular sign that reads “YWCA Chocolate for Change: A Sweet & Spicy Lunch for Good! Presented by Scheels.” To the right, there is a festive balloon display in orange, gold, and cream colors.

Happy birthday, Max! 🥳

This Friday, we celebrated our Chief Storyteller Max for his birthday! We kicked off the day with birthday bagels (of course). We gathered around the kitchen island with some breakfast, started the day with some great laughs, and asked Max what his goal is for this year. His answer? “More joy, bagels, and merriment!” Happy birthday, Max!

A group of eight people gather around a kitchen island for a photo. There is also someone joining virtually from a laptop. There are bagels on a plate on the island, along with a small sign that reads “Happy Birthday Max!”

Filming out & about 🎥

The film team stayed (relatively) local, traveling to Wahpeton to do some filming! We filmed interviews, shot plenty of B-roll, and enjoyed the cooler temps. This was only half of the filming done for this project, so keep an eye out for some additional filming to come!

A cinematographer wearing a camera rig films in a bright, modern kitchen. At the counter, a baby sits in a small seat while a woman in a navy shirt stands beside them. Another woman in a light pink top stands nearby, smiling. The kitchen features pendant lights, bar stools, and a vase of flowers on the island, with a cozy living room visible in the background.
A close-up view of a monitor screen shows live video footage being recorded. On the screen, a woman sits on a beige sectional couch holding a baby in her lap, while another woman sits beside them, holding and looking at a piece of paper. The baby reaches toward the paper as both women smile. The background reveals a bright living room with natural light coming through a window and a front entryway visible in the distance.
That wraps up this week! Keep an eye out for our next plog, coming September 12th!
A woman sitting at a desk smiles playfully with her hands resting under her chin. She wears a red and gray shirt and a smartwatch. Behind her on the wall is a large geometric mural made of triangular panels in shades of green and blue, arranged in the shape of mountains. The desk has papers, a computer monitor, and a red mug, with books and other items on a side cabinet.
