Welcome to Tellwell’s weekly Plog (photo-blog)!

We’re big fans of so many things… impactful stories, our community, and Wiley Wallaby Licorice! Let’s see what we were up to this week in Tellwell World.

A group of six people gathers in a modern kitchen space, smiling and holding various snack products, including popcorn and Wiley Wallaby licorice. The background features dark kitchen cabinets and a bright green wall. The group appears cheerful and engaged.

This week’s writer

Oh hello there, Annie here to bring you the highlights from what’s happened at Tellwell in this frigid first week of February. As Chief of Staff at Tellwell, my focus is on making sure we have the right people and resources to deliver the best strategies and creative work to our Story Makers. Sometimes, I also have “other duties as assigned” which you’ll have to keep scrolling to see if you can spot me!

Creativity Fuel

Fueling our creativity this week has been a special delivery from KLN Family Brands, the makers of our favorite Wiley Wallaby treats. Shout out to Charlie Nelson for hearing our story about Wiley Wallaby-o’clock and shipping us a special delivery. We’ve used that fuel for plenty of projects this week. We finished up Sweetheart Ball Designs for Ronald McDonald House Charities and are putting the finishing touches on a new website for our friends at Craftwell. Plus, the Film Crew captured interviews and b-roll for projects with some of our FM Area Story Makers. From Studio time to real-world settings, we didn’t let the cold and wind stop us from setting the scenes to tell impactful stories.

A smiling woman with long red hair and fair skin is sitting at a kitchen counter, posing with a gift basket wrapped in floral-patterned cellophane and adorned with a large gold bow. She is wearing a light blue denim shirt over a gray long-sleeve top. The gift basket contains various items, including snacks and other treats, and is wrapped neatly. The background features dark kitchen cabinets, a stainless steel range hood, and a light-colored ceiling with recessed lighting. The setting appears to be a modern kitchen.
A behind-the-scenes look at a video production setup in a studio. A man wearing a light blue t-shirt sits in front of a light blue backdrop, gesturing as he speaks. The camera in the foreground captures him on a small screen, with professional lighting equipment and a green backdrop rolled up above.

The videographer is using a camera rig with a monitor displaying the ongoing recording. The hospital room has wooden cabinets, medical equipment, and a clean, professional appearance.

Movin’ on Up!

We’re delighted to celebrate Duncan Williamson’s promotion to Director of Production! For the last 1.5-2 years, Duncan has been committed to leveling up his leadership skills through a certificate in Creative Leadership and further honing his craft. Max shared his excitement and encouragement for Duncan saying, “From wrangling challenging deadlines to cross-country adventures, you’ve shaped our film team with heart and vision these past four years. I’m proud to see you grow as a leader, a dad, and a partner. Here’s to the next chapter, Director Duncan – let’s go share all the stories!”

As Duncan reflected on his new role, he shared “Over four years ago, when I joined Tellwell as a Senior Video Producer, I was excited to join a new team, eager to tell meaningful stories and curious about what a future in Fargo would look like! Since then, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to grow alongside an amazing team, collaborate on impactful projects, and contribute to the evolution of our film team. Stepping into this new role, I’m more excited than ever for what’s ahead. Tellwell’s mission and passion for storytelling continue to inspire me, and I can’t wait to see what our team does in the next four years, and beyond!”

The background is filled with festive string lights, multiple TV screens, and various flags and decorations, including a Ferrari logo banner and a pirate flag. Other patrons are visible in the background, engaged in conversation and dining.

Tellwellians Out & About

It’s no secret that we love our community all year, but especially as we’re coming up on Giving Hearts Day (GHD) and Valentine’s Day we try to show up and show our love! On Wednesday, Jenny dropped by the GHD Takeover of Start Up Brew that featured nonprofits. On Thursday, Annie hopped over to the FMWF Chamber’s Member Mingle to connect with other small businesses and nonprofits. Annie was also invited to speak at the United Way’s 35 Under 35 Program where she led the ladies through a workshop to define their values. When you see a Tellwellian out and about, don’t be shy…say hi!

Dreams are Comin’ True!

Our crew of dreamers and doers is partnering with DonorDock to bring an idea to life: WellTold, a nonprofit storytelling conference! Just this week we publicly announced this one-of-a-kind conference aimed at supporting mission-based organizations with hands-on learning. We’ll be hosting the one-day conference in good ol’ Fargo on April 24, 2025. See what we’re cooking up here.

That wraps up this week! Keep an eye out for our next plog, coming February 14!
