Welcome to Tellwell’s weekly Plog (photo-blog)!

Projects were approved, films were shot, and fun was had. Let’s dive into what went down this week at Tellwell!

A film crew is recording a scene at an indoor climbing wall. Two people are climbing the wall, while a cameraman stands on a ladder filming one of the climbers. Several crew members are on the ground observing and assisting with the shoot. The setting is well-lit, and the climbing wall is equipped with ropes and climbing holds for different skill levels.

Film team craziness!

This week, the film team had four film shoots (almost one every single day this week !!). As a team, we are so proud with how these projects are coming together, and even more proud that we were able to accomplish so much in one week! Let’s see what projects they were working on this week.

Filming in Grafton & Park River, ND

Early this week, half of the film team made their way north to Grafton and Park River, ND for some filming. This shoot took them to multiple locations in the area, highlighting a local child care facility and a few elementary classes at Park River Elementary School. It’s not every day we get to work with kids, so the energy was high and the days were exciting. We can’t wait to share more on this project soon!

A cameraman wearing a body-mounted rig films a young boy working on an art project at a table. The boy, seated on a stool, is gluing paper as part of a craft activity. The table is filled with art supplies, including markers, scissors, and glue. The classroom walls display educational posters about colors, and various supplies and bins are visible around the room.
A cameraman wearing a body-mounted rig films two women seated at a table in a classroom while a 'Film Crew' member watches and monitors the footage on a phone. The women at the table are engaged in conversation and have papers and supplies spread out in front of them. The classroom is decorated with educational posters, including the alphabet and other children's artwork on the walls, and is filled with learning materials and storage bins.
A behind-the-scenes view of a video interview in a colorful classroom. A woman sitting on a yoga ball is smiling while being filmed by two cameras on tripods. A 'Film Crew' member sits across from her, conducting the interview. The classroom is decorated with educational posters, colorful crafts, and soft furniture, creating a lively atmosphere.

Filming locally in Fargo-Moorhead

This week, the film team also stayed local. This marked week three of filming commercials for a local university. Location after location, the team was running all around town to get the perfect shots. Along the way, Lead Editor Matt found his way into a bunk bed to get the best angle for sound (gotta do what you gotta do for the shot)! Keep an eye out for more filming with this project in the future, exciting things are happening!

A film crew is outdoors in a grassy field, walking towards the sun as it sets or rises in the sky. One person holds a boom microphone, while others walk ahead, silhouetted by the bright sunlight. The scene is bathed in natural light, creating long shadows and a cinematic atmosphere.
A film crew is set up outdoors on a college campus, filming a woman standing on a pathway. One crew member operates a camera on a slider, another holds a boom microphone, and a third adjusts a large light. All crew members are wearing 'Film Crew' shirts. The setting features brick buildings, trees, and a grassy area with other people walking in the background.
Two men are working in a small dorm room setup. One man is seated below, operating a camera, while another is lying on the top bunk bed, wearing headphones and holding sound equipment. Both are smiling and seem to be having fun while working. The room is simply furnished with a desk, a small table, and a few personal items.

Design world updates!

The design team has been hard at work in the office and within our community. Let’s see what they’ve been up to!

AAF-ND event

This week, Senior Design Strategist Sandy and Graphic Designer Jen attended the American Advertising Federation of North Dakota’s first luncheon of the season! This speaker event featured Nikki Villagomez, a culture and typography expert. In her presentation, “How Culture Affects Typography,” she shared how location can impact design and type choice. Such a cool and eye-opening experience!

Two women standing inside a rustic venue with wood-paneled walls, smiling and holding round metallic coasters. One woman is wearing a backwards baseball cap, a black shirt, and a red flannel jacket, while the other is wearing a black shirt and a brown cardigan. In the background, there are people, tables set for an event, and a stage with a large arched window design.

Recent projects

The whole design team has been hard at work on several projects, so let’s highlight some recently completed ones!

Seeing design projects come to life is so fulfilling. One recently completed project was the Heart-N-Soul Community Café leave behind brochure. This brochure will help spread the word to potential clients and customers!

The front cover features the café's logo with the tagline 'Nourish Your Community, One Meal at a Time,' along with photos of people enjoying meals. The interior of the brochure lists various sponsorship options, including 'Tater Tot Hotdish Sponsor,' 'BBQ Feast Sponsor,' 'Taco Night Sponsor,' and 'Harvest Hero Sponsor,' each with descriptions and donation amounts to support the community café.

Along with this, we launched three websites: ND Multi-Tier System of Supports (NDMTSS), Child Care Aware (CCA), and ND Suicide Prevention Coalition (NDSPC). Can you tell we love acronyms around here?

The website features sections for parents and families, child care services, and starting child care. Each device shows different parts of the website, demonstrating its responsive design and user-friendly interface on different screen sizes.

The mockups highlight information on suicide prevention training, crisis support, and educational resources aimed at helping students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. The pages showcase clean, modern layouts with clear calls to action and organized content blocks.

A little arts & crafts

In the spirit of our troll hunt last week, Graphic Designer Jen took it into her own hands to craft a homemade, miniature Tellwell Storytelling Troll that will now live (and hide) at the office. The clue we were given to help find her? “Under the spider’s shadow.” So next time you visit us, keep a close eye out for our little buddy!

A small handcrafted figure made from natural materials such as acorns, twigs, moss, and leaves sits on a shelf. The figure has a whimsical appearance, wearing a leaf skirt and an acorn cap, with a twig arm raised holding an acorn. The background includes part of a plant and other decorative items.
That wraps up this week! Keep an eye out for our next plog, coming September 27th!
A man and a woman, both wearing black shirts, are seated in a brightly lit classroom. The man, sitting on a small chair with his legs crossed, smiles at the camera. The woman sits on a bench in the background, also smiling. The classroom features children's furniture, a play kitchen, and colorful decorations on the walls.
